SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The San Francisco Police Department is investigating a Tuesday afternoon stabbing at an apartment in the city’s Tenderloin District.

According to SFPD’s crime report log, the incident happened 4:30 p.m. on McAllister Street. Police stated the assailant went to the victim’s room, and the man was immediately stabbed with a knife after he opened the door. Police did not disclose the relationship of the two and if they were roommates.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he has life-threatening injuries.

It is not clear if the weapon was recovered at the scene. The motive and circumstances surrounding the stabbing are under investigation.

Police have not made any arrests in the case and have not released a suspect description.
