
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The statewide coalition Dependable Power First Kentucky unveils results from a new report on the state’s utility rates.
The report shows Kentucky’s electricity rates are 22 percent below the national average, but the coalition says EPA regulations have driven coal plant retirements, which has created a gap between power supply and demand.
Unless something changes, the coalition says families and businesses will face higher costs and be more vulnerable to power outages and rolling blackouts.
