JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — Authorities have identified the gunman in a June murder-suicide at a Janesville apartment complex that left four people dead.

According to Janesville Police, officers were called to the Aspen Square Apartments, in the 2600 block of N. Pontiac Drive, around 11:04 a.m. on June 17th.

Police were initially told there was a “family problem” at the complex, prior to reports of shots being fired within.

Police said when officers entered the apartment, they found an unresponsive adult in the doorway with a visible gunshot wound.

Police Chief Chad Pearson said the home in question had been the subject of prior calls to law enforcement. He also said there were no children in the unit where the crime occurred.

The Rock County Medical Examiner said Julia Cvicker, 25, Jahvarius Wicks, 21, and Scott Roberts, 55, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the surviving adult, later identified as Haylee Lounsbury, 21, suffered life-threatening injuries and was being treated at a local hospital, and later died.

On Friday, July 18th, Janesville Police confirmed Wicks was the gunman who shot the others and then killed himself. “One of the victims was someone with whom he had a prior domestic relationship and was present at the apartment to retrieve personal belongings,” police added.
