SEARCY, Ark. – Officials announced that a $1 million gift from a private donor to Harding University will enable advancements in the school’s technology and education.

The university’s College of Business Administration will begin offering a major in artificial intelligence (AI) in the fall semester. Additionally, a one-hour credit course has been added to the fall schedule, exploring the digital currency Bitcoin as a still-evolving financial instrument.

The Bitcoin course is taught by university alumnus and Blockworks content director, Bennett Holloway, who spoke about rapid change in technology.

“It’s difficult to overstate the speed and complexity of technological change in today’s marketplace,” Holloway said. “A solid understanding of the core technologies driving innovation and the historical forces behind them will equip students to keep pace and excel in the modern workforce.”
