Greenville man faces murder charge in brother’s death

GREENVILLE, Miss. (WJTV) – Greenville police arrested a man in connection to the shooting death of his brother.

The shooting occurred in the 700 block of Cotton Drive around 9:00 p.m. on July 16. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Gervonte Johnson, 27, with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Gervonte Johnson was transported to Delta Health Systems, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators said his brother, Santwan Johnson, 21, was charged with murder in connection to the case. He’s being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility.
