Four CTA Red Line stations reopen this weekend

CHICAGO — After years of renovations, four new CTA Red Line stations are reopening this weekend.

The Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn and Bryn Mawr stations will be back in business starting Sunday morning.

According to the CTA, they have all been equipped with escalators and elevators to make them accessible to passengers with diabilities.

The stations also have wider platforms and overhead canopies to protect riders from rain and snow.

The construction was part of a $2.1 billion Red and Purple line modernization project.

The Lawrence and Berwyn stops were closed for more than four years due to pandemic-related delays.
