The Stockton Police Department is now connecting that crime to another homicide in Orange County.
The Garden Grove Police Department said officers received a call around 8:05 a.m. from a person requesting a welfare check requiring police and an ambulance on Morgan Lane, as their family member was staying at that residence.

As police were arriving, a young girl who said she was inside the residence made a call claiming her mother needed help.
Officers found 37-year-old Crystal Gonzalez of Lodi dead, and two juveniles who were unharmed and unaware of the situation.
Investigators identified the suspect as a 35-year-old Miguel Lopez, a former CHP officer, who was missing from the residence and determined to be the husband of the victim and the father of the juveniles.
As investigators began searching for Lopez, a family member notified police that his vehicle was in Stockton, at a scene that involved the Stockton Police Department.
The Stockton Police Department released information on Thursday that said a 35-year-old man, now identified as Lopez, is dead, while a 54-year-old man was hospitalized and is in critical condition after a shooting in Stockton.
SPD said that the double shooting is an apparent attempted murder-suicide incident that took place at 7:58 a.m. on 800 W Eight Mile Road.
The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call Garden Grove Detective Rogers at 714-741-5413.
