The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District said the swim beach at the Dry Brooks Day Use area is closed until further notice.
They cited “a current algal bloom and detection of toxins above safe standards within the designated swim area.”
“Additionally, visitors are advised to avoid contact with all lake water until further notice,” The USACE said. “When water quality testing provides results within safe standards, the Algal Bloom Status will be updated.”
The USACE advises visitors to be alert for harmful algal bloom signs and symptoms throughout all lake areas, such as extremely discolored water, and to avoid contact with discolored water or scum.
