The city unveiled 10 new mosaic benches and a painted electrical cabinet along Skyline Boulevard – a vibrant addition that the city says celebrates Avenal’s local culture, agricultural roots, and diverse Hispanic heritage, for it blends elements of Mexican folk art, landscapes and “the resilience and unity of our people.”
The addition was possible through Caltrans’ Clean California Grant Program. Andrea Torres was the artist in charge of the mosaic art, and Steven Camacho took care of the electrical cabinet.
The project was done in partnership with the Fresno Arts Council.
