Tropics: The disturbance in the Northern Gulf (AL93) has remained disorganized today. As it begins to move inland today, it will no longer have the fuel needed to become a named storm. Flooding remains an issue for parts of the Gulf Coast through the weekend.
The Weekend: We expect another round of scattered storms Friday afternoon with temperatures sitting in the mid 90s. However, the rain chances will back off for the weekend.
An area of high pressure (also known as a heat dome) will give our temperatures plenty of time to heat up. Get ready for heat index temperatures close to 105 degrees by Sunday afternoon.
Next Week: The heat dome will hold strong at the beginning of the week. Highs will be close to 100 degrees, and dangerous heat index temperatures will reach nearly 110 degrees in some areas on Tuesday. Heat Advisories will likely be needed.
Clouds and more widespread storms will build by the middle of next week. This will help to cool readings back into the lower 90s.
