Former President Donald Trump ignited controversy Wednesday morning with a post on Truth Social denouncing growing interest in the Jeffrey Epstein case as “the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” and attacking his own supporters for paying attention to it.

In a lengthy message posted at 9:43 a.m., Trump compared the renewed attention to Epstein’s alleged connections with political elites to past scandals he labeled as fabrications, including the Steele dossier, the “Laptop from Hell,” and the Russia investigation. He accused Democrats of orchestrating the current Epstein focus to distract from their own failures and declared that he no longer wants support from those who are “doing the Democrats’ work.”

“Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bullshit,’ hook, line, and sinker,” Trump wrote. “Let these weaklings continue forward… I don’t want their support anymore!”

The post quickly drew fire — not from Democrats, but from longtime Trump supporters on the same platform. One user, ArQangel, wrote, “Why was Epstein in prison then? How about Ghislaine? For a hoax? I don’t think so. This is the hill we all die on.”

Another user, Ultra Florida Will, urged Trump to reconsider his rhetoric: “Most of your supporters have wanted justice for elite child sex crimes… since it was covered up in 2007. Long before any radical left D cared or acknowledged. I find your behavior… so dismissive and ludicrous.”

The backlash highlights a growing fracture between Trump and elements of his base, particularly those who have long believed Epstein was part of a broader network of elite pedophiles protected by intelligence agencies. While Trump previously called for investigations into Epstein’s connections, his latest dismissal of the case as a hoax contradicts those earlier stances and risks alienating loyal supporters.

The Epstein case has remained a potent flashpoint in American conspiracy circles and political discourse, especially as new documents and depositions continue to surface. Earlier this year, several flight logs and deposition transcripts were unsealed, renewing public scrutiny of high-profile figures associated with Epstein.
