Plane crashes in Sylacauga
SYLACAUGA, Ala. (WIAT) — A small plane crashed outside the runway of the Sylacauga Municipal Airport Wednesday afternoon.

The airport confirmed that a small Beechcraft plane experienced engine trouble and crash-landed in the woods just before the runway at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Sylacauga Fire Chief Nate Osgood confirmed one person was in the plane was injured and was airlifted to UAB Hospital for treatment.

The crash is being investigated.
