Four friends who are all Seniors at Newman (Jai Bansal, Christopher Connolly, Jackson Dirks and Dylan Kolenovsky) aren’t spending their summer playing video games or mowing lawns because they’ve started an innovative new business.
“The name of our business is “Free Mind Inc.” and what it does is it combines home improvement, it is set up up with pressure washing and website creation for businesses,” Bansal said.
He went on to say, “These two business models fund our charity, our foundation where we teach underprivileged students about AI and technology.”
Starting a new business at their age comes with challenges.
“One of the biggest challenges is having all of us in town at the same time and having time to do this. Another challenge is getting credibility and trust because a lot of people don’t know who we are,” Kolenovsky said.
They believe their hard work is clear.
“Usually when we do a job, we focus on the ground, on the brick walkway or cement. When we first start the job, you’ll see a lot of moss and dirt, as we clean it, you can clearly see the difference,” Christopher Connolly, Newman student said.
These guys feel that this is a productive way to spend their summer vacation.
“I find it satisfying and it is something that I like to do,” Kolenovsky said.
“All four of us are interested in business and we don’t want it to end when summer ends, so we want it to be a project that will continue throughout our Senior year,” Bansal said.
