Lyon County WIC and Care-Arc hosted their annual “Breastfeeding Bash” on July 16 at the Lyon County Fair Grounds in Emporia. It’s a way for pregnant and nursing mothers learn about local health resources and the services they provide.
New mothers may be presented with a variety of challenges with breastfeeding. Organizers say they want moms to know support is ready and available.
“I do think that it helps moms know that they’re not alone,” said WIC Coordinator Diana Moore. “They’re supported no matter what we just want to make sure mama’s healthy and the baby’s healthy and that’s the main goal.”
