FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is hosting its inaugural MetroFest celebration to celebrate community connections. Guests will be able to enjoy music, snacks, and fun activities – all for free.

According to the official Metro Transit website, the Metro staff will be available to share information, guide attendees through exhibits, and answer questions.

The event will give transit enthusiasts the chance to board Metro vehicles, meet the team and get a closer look at the inner workings of powering the transit.

The Metro website says the celebration will take place rain or shine. The event will be held on July 26 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro Station. To secure your spot or find out more information, visit the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website.
