Frost Science Museum showcases European AI exhibit

The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is showcasing “AI: More Than Human,” a special exhibition by the Barbican Centre that explores the evolution and impact of artificial intelligence.

Runing through Sept. 1, the exhibition engages with AI firsthand by interacting with unique machines, experiencing vibrant digital installations, and uncovering humanity’s long-standing relationship with technology, said Analisa Duran, Frost Science’s Knight senior director of education. The exhibition traces AI’s origins, from ancient Japanese Shintoism to the groundbreaking innovations in computing that have shaped today’s digital world.

Divided into four sections, the exhibition features the origins and history of AI, how it has developed throughout history, how AI is transforming society while addressing critical ethical questions, and exploring the future of artificial life and AI’s role in shaping humanity.

On view inside the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery on the first floor, the exhibit at 1101 Biscayne Blvd. in downtown Miami was curated and organized by the City of London’s Barbican Centre, co-produced by Groningen Forum, Netherlands, and sponsored locally by Amazon.

“This exhibition offers a fascinating look at how AI has evolved from a concept of human imagination to a ubiquitous technology affecting many facets of our lives,” Ms. Duran said, “Whether you’re an AI enthusiast or a skeptic, this experience will challenge your perceptions and spark new conversations about our relationship with technology.”
