Fairfax County fire department giving grill safety tips for National Hot Dog Day

FAIRFAX COUNTY (DC News Now) — Wednesday is National Hot Dog Day. The Fairfax County Fire Department encourages you to fire up your grill, but to do so safely.

The Fairfax Fire Department is giving you the following grilling safety tips:

  • Never leave your grill unattended
  • Never use gasoline to start a fire
  • Keep a garden hose or a fire extinguisher handy
  • Never use a grill on apartment or condo balconies
  • Keep children and pets away

Enjoy your hot dogs and stay safe this National Hot Dog Day.
