Alexandria duo arrested for trafficking meth, counterfeit money

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – In June of this year, the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit was contacted by the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to an Alton Jones being arrested at a local business for allegedly attempting to pass counterfeit cash and two narcotic related violations.  Jones was known as a narcotics violator in Rapides Parish and a new investigation was opened in reference to this new arrest.

Through extensive surveillance and other investigative means, RADE Agents were able to obtain an arrest warrant on Jones for Distribution of CDS II (Methamphetamines) as well as a search warrant for his apartment in 2600 block of Loblolly Lane, Alexandria.

On July 9th, 2025, Jones was observed driving down North Bolton Avenue.  Having knowledge of the active warrant, a K-9 Deputy currently assigned to RADE initiated a traffic stop and arrested Jones for the active distribution warrant.  During the arrest process, Jones attempted to dispose of possible evidence into the roadway median but deputies quickly collected the sack which contained several bags of Methamphetamine, totaling just over two ounces.

After Jones was taken into custody without incident, RADE Agents went to 2615 Loblolly Lane Apartment 2E and executed the search warrant.  A female, identified as Iyana Harrell, arrived shortly after RADE Agents began searching the residence which Harrell lived in as well.  During the search, Agents located approximately ten grams of Marijuana, seven grams of Methamphetamines, and over $13,000.00 of assorted U.S. currency.

Jones was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked for the active Distribution of CDS II (Methamphetamines) warrant and Possession of CDS II (Methamphetamines) with Intent to Distribute and Possession of CDS I (Marijuana).  Harrell was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked for Possession of CDS II (Methamphetamines) with Intent to Distribute and Possession of CDS I (Marijuana).

Jones was released on July 11 on a $65,500.00 bond.  Harrell was released on July 10 on a $20,500.00 bond.

RADE Agents say this is still an active, ongoing investigation.
