Alabama woman arrested after allegedly stabbing man, chasing woman with crowbar in Walmart

DEMPOLIS, Ala. (WIAT) — A Demopolis woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man with a butcher knife and chasing a person with a crowbar at Walmart Tuesday.

Demopolis police officers arrived to Walmart on reports of a possible active shooter situation. As Marengo County dispatchers were arriving, they were made aware that it wasn’t an active shooter, but that someone has been stabbed inside. Police report that Kierra Carter, 32, allegedly came into the store, picked up a crowbar and butcher knife and began assaulting a 29-year-old woman with the crowbar.

Carter then reportedly began chasing the female in the store with the crowbar. A man then attempted to take the crowbar away from Carter and was cut in the process.

Both victims were transported to Whitfield Regional Hospital. The woman was treated and released, and the man was flown by helicopter to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Carter is charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
