AEW to hold three-week residency at Chicago’s Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom

CHICAGO (WGN) — All Elite Wrestling is no stranger to Chicago, but coming off the company’s successful pay-per-view “All In: Texas,” AEW will hold a multi-week residency at a famed venue on the city’s North Side for the first time.

Founded by CEO Tony Khan in 2019, AEW, which offers an alternative to mainstream wrestling, begins a three-week Chicago residency Wednesday at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom, located at 1106 W Lawrence Ave in the city’s Uptown neighborhood.

Dates for AEW’s residency include:

• Wednesday, July 16: AEW Dynamite, live on TBS and streaming on HBO Max
• Thursday, July 17: AEW Collision, airing on TNT and streaming on HBO Max (show airs Saturday, July 19)
• Wednesday, July 23: AEW Dynamite live on TBS and streaming on HBO Max
• Saturday, July 26: AEW Collision, live on TNT and streaming on HBO Max
• Wednesday, July 30: AEW Dynamite live on TBS and streaming on HBO Max
• Thursday, July 31: AEW Collision, airing on TNT and streaming on HBO Max

AEW has previously held events at Chicago’s United Center, Wintrust Arena, and NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates. Tickets are available via AEWTix.com and Ticketmaster.

The company is coming off its biggest annual show, “All In: Texas,” which featured new AEW World Heavyweight Champion “Hangman” Adam Page, Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, Will Osprey, Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, Mercedes Mone, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF), and more.

The first “All In,” which Khan credits as the inspiration behind founding what would become AEW, was held in 2018 at the then-Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.

“Chicago is a great home for AEW,” Khan told WGN News in 2023. “It’s part of the launch of AEW. It’s a home to me personally, and we’re always going to bring AEW to Chicago.”

AEW Dynamite airs every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. CT on TBS and simulcasts on HBO Max, AEW Collision airs every Saturday from 7-9 p.m. CT on TNT and simulcasts on HBO Max.
