7-year-old left with life-threatening injuries after being hit by car in St. Paul

Police are investigating after a child was hit by a car in St. Paul on Wednesday night.

St. Paul officers responded to White Bear Avenue and Fifth Street at around 7:30 p.m. for a 7-year-old child hit by a car.

The child was brought to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the police department.

Police say that the driver of the car was cooperative with officers, and there were no signs of impairment. He was released from the scene after talking with investigators.

The traffic and accident investigators with the St. Paul Police Department are currently investigating the incident.
