Texas named a top U.S. destination for summer shopping — here’s where to shop

DALLAS (KDAF) — A new study by Digital Directory Express has revealed which states boast the most top-rated shopping malls in the U.S. The study analyzed the top 400 highest-rated shopping malls in America, evaluating both the number of high-ranking malls per state and individual mall ratings based on consumer reviews.

California leads the pack with 70 malls ranked in the country’s top 400, which is more than double the count of second-place Florida. With 111 open malls statewide, 63% of the Golden State’s malls made the top 400. Top contenders include Universal CityWalk, The Grove at Farmers Market, and Las Americas Premium Outlets, all earning impressive 4.6-star reviews and landing in America’s top 15.

Florida comes in second with 33 top-rated malls but takes the crown when it comes to ratings. The Sunshine State is home to six of the top 10 malls in the U.S., including the #1 best-reviewed mall, Brickell City Centre, followed by Bal Harbour Shops and Sawgrass Mills. These three malls have an average rating of 4.67 stars.

Texas follows closely in third with 31 top-rated malls. Leading the way are NorthPark Center in Dallas, La Plaza Mall in McAllen, and The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio. These malls all appear in the country’s top 25 malls, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5.
