INDIANAPOLIS — A gun was found in a men’s bathroom at Indianapolis International Airport on Tuesday.

According to a public police report, law enforcement was dispatched to 7800 Colonel H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive around 6:30 p.m. The report indicates police were called to investigate “found property.”

The property police were called to investigate was a black Taurus pistol and eight .22 caliber rounds. The report confirms the firearm and ammunition were found in a men’s restroom on airport property.

The report — which was generated by the Indianapolis International Airport Police Department — sheds little additional light on the investigation. As of this article’s publication, it’s currently unclear exactly how the gun ended up in the men’s bathroom.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
