Police said they arrested Robert Smith and Sheila Tuck following a report of a residential burglary on Monday, in the 100 block of East Hawthorne Street.
Officers responded to the area at about 12:30 p.m. There, police say they determined two suspects entered the home after prying open a bedroom window and took several items, including a man’s Black Hills Gold wedding band, costume jewelry and four firearms.
As the investigation continued, police identified Tuck and Smith as the suspects – Tuck was on probation at the time. Police conducted a probation compliance check at Smith’s and Tuck’s home in the 500 block of E. Polk St.
The police department said they recovered the four stolen firearms and a stolen Black Hills Gold wedding band during the search. As a result, Smith and Tuck were arrested under suspicion of possession of stolen property and for being felons in possession of firearms. Tuck was also accused of violating probation.
