15-year-old charged with murder of 15-year-old boy at northeast Charlotte apartment complex: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 15-year-old has been charged with murder for allegedly killing a 15-year-old at a northeast Charlotte apartment complex, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday, July 10, and charged with murder for the incident two weeks prior on June 26.

The shooting happened around 11:30 that night at an apartment complex on the 1000 block of Merrick Street. Aside from the 15-year-old victim, a 30-year-old woman and four children between 3 and 14 years old were at risk but were not injured, according to the police report.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been notified of the arrest, police said.
