Woman shot on Hancock Street in Jackson: police

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a woman was injured during a shooting.

The shooting occurred on Hancock Street just before 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the unidentified victim was transported to a hospital in a private vehicle. There’s no word on her condition.

Brown said investigators do not have a suspect or motive at this time. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact JPD at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
