Whether it’s a spontaneous weekend getaway, late-night takeout splurge, or saying “yes” to one more round, impulse plays a big role in American life. But do some states embrace spontaneity more than others?
A new study created an ‘Impulsiveness Index’, analyzing behavioral data, search trends, and spending habits across the U.S. Texas ranks as the 4th most impulsive state in the country.
Texas ranked 4th in “Spontaneous Purchases,” with 4,024 monthly Google searches (per capita) for terms like “late night food delivery” and “same day delivery,” Texans show a strong tendency toward spur-of-the-moment decisions.
Texans are also 6th in “Credit Card Debt” with an average credit card debt of $6,753, suggesting frequent impulsive spending habits.
