HATFIELD, Pa. (WHTM) — The Clemons Food Group recently confirmed that it is investing approximately $130 million towards renovating and expanding its pork processing plant in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Earlier today, the Clemons Food Group confirmed with abc27 news that they are currently undergoing a major renovation project at their existing pork processing plant at 2700 Clemons Road in Hatfield.

According to Clemons Food Group, this project is being completed in two main phases:

Phase One is the renovation phase for their existing facility. This part of the project officially broke ground back in February 2025.

Phase Two of the project is being coined “the expansion phase” which is slated to begin later this year and expected to be completed in the first half of 2027. As part of this expansion, the plant will grow by an additional 72,481 square feet.

This will bring the plant’s total size to 177,824 square feet.

Clemons Food Group says they are investing in this Pennsylvania facility to “continue our commitment to the highest levels of safety and food safety, and to improve product flow.”

The company adds that this expansion will allow them to increase capacities and capabilities in their value-added product line.

The design-build partner for the upgrade to this Montgomery County-based pork processing plant is Gray Construction, which will be the fourth project completed between the two companies.

This expansion announcement comes more than a year after the Clemons Food Group acquired the Lancaster County-based Kunzler & Company. Just months after the acquisition, it was announced that the Lancaster plant on 652 Manor Street would be ceasing operations.

According to Clemons Food Group’s website, they have been delivering pork products since 1895. Today, the food group is the fifth-largest pork processor in the United States of America.
