The school district is partnering with Lower Merion Township and Narberth Borough to launch the new BusPatrol school bus safety enforcement program.
According to LMSD, the entire fleet of the district’s 135 buses will be equipped with cameras and other technology to detect and capture the license plates of cars that do not stop for school buses. Evidence will be sent to police for review before a violation is issued.
The penalty for a first-time violation is $300, according to PennDOT.
The program will go live on August 1, 2025. Learn more about the district’s program HERE.
