Fire extinguished in Benicia State Recreation Area, evacuation order lifted
(KRON) — Homes were briefly evacuated due to a vegetation fire that ignited in Benicia State Recreation Area in Solano County Monday evening, according to the Benicia Fire Department.

Evacuations were ordered for the area of Stuart Court and London Circle around 5:05 p.m. That evacuation order was lifted at 5:52 p.m.

“All evacuation orders have been lifted,” the Benicia Fire Department announced. “This fire was on either side of the I-780 freeway bordering the state park.”

A vegetation fire is actively burning in Benicia State Recreation Area. Homes are being evacuated in the area. (KRON4)

The fire was fully extinguished by 6:30 p.m., firefighters said.

“Both sides of the fire have been extinguished,” BFD said. “There were no structures damaged and no injuries. Crews remain on scene performing mop up and will continue to monitor throughout the evening.”
