CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office announced the retirement of Dianne Moose after fifty years of service.

Dianne began her career with Catawba County in 1975 when she joined the Register of Deeds Office. Dianne served in that office until December 1982, when she joined newly elected Sheriff L. David Huffman as he began his first term in office. Dianne initially served as the Sheriff’s administrative assistant before attending Basic Law Enforcement Training.

Dianne completed that training at Catawba Valley Community College in 1983 and was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Moose served in front office administration and the Narcotics Division before being selected to serve as a Warrant Service Deputy in 1996. Deputy Moose remained in the Warrant Division until leaving full-time service in 2004.

Dianne returned later in 2004, where she has continued to serve in front office administration in a part-time capacity.

Please join us in applauding Dianne for her 50 years of exemplary service to the citizens of Catawba County.
