Chicago police issue warning about recent late-night robberies in River North

CHICAGO — Chicago police have issued a warning after multiple people were robbed recently while out late in River North.

Police say at least four intoxicated people were befriended by the suspect or suspects, who then forcibly robbed and beat the victims. The robberies have all taken place as bars and restaurants in River North are closing, and police say one to three suspects are involved.

According to police, the robberies took place in River North on the following dates, at these locations and approximate times:

  • June 16: 400 block of North Wabash, 1 a.m.
  • June 22: 600 block of North Dearborn, 3 a.m.
  • June 28: 600 block of N. Wabash, midnight.
  • July 6: 400 block of North State, 2 a.m.
