GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro police are investigating after a woman was found dead on Monday and her son was charged.

Around 2:57 p.m., Greensboro police responded to the 1600 block of Sunrise Valley Drive in Greensboro on a welfare check after the victim, Nhoan Kopa, 52, did not show up for work, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.

Kopa was found in an upstairs bathroom with free bleeding trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

GPD Detectives developed probable cause to charge the victim’s son, Jut Kopa, 27, with one count of first-degree murder.

He was found in Raleigh, arrested and taken back to Greensboro.

He is now in the Guilford County Jail without bond.
