TOPEKA (KSNT) – Washburn University says it’s increasing its tuition in line with recent tuition increase approvals made by the Kansas Board of Regents.
27 News reached out to Washburn University to find out what tuition increases were approved by the Washburn Board of Regents. Washburn spokeswoman Lori Hutchinson said the university is increasing its tuition on all campuses by 4%.
“This increase is in alignment with Kansas Board of Regents institutions and will help cover the higher cost of operations, goods and services,” Hutchinson said.
Hutchinson said that Washburn students are only charged one fee in addition to tuition, a student activity fee.
“Other universities impose fees such as parking, technology, athletic and program or course fees – Washburn does not,” Hutchinson said.

The tuition increases at state universities will go into effect in the upcoming academic year in Fiscal Year 2026.
