His ministry said a final goodbye with a celebration of life here in Baton Rouge, inviting all who have been touched by his messages. Swaggart was a man who helped shape modern-day evangelism, and even though he has passed away, many tell me that the mission he started will continue.
“Today we celebrate the incredible legacy that was Jimmy Swaggart, for all of the years that he has lived and touched everyone around the world.” Megan Kelly says
From the pulpit to the big screen, Jimmy Swagart was more than a preacher; he was a messenger of faith. To those who knew him best, his greatest desire was to guide people closer to Jesus.
Kelly says, “He would want people to remember Jesus and that’s what he was about and yes, he was a larger-than-life figure yes people loved him and wanted to follow him, but it was more of a follow me as I follow Christ thing and I know for sure without a doubt he would want them to remember the way he loved the lord.”
Although Reverend Swaggart has passed away, his legacy lives on, touching hearts around the world every Sunday morning. For countless believers, this mission he started is far from over.”
Kelly says, “Brother Swaggart has passed on but his legacy lives on and we’re still going to continue going on Sunday mornings on Sonlife broadcast network everything will continue to go on and we know as Christians that the best is yet to come, and we know that everything is going to continue to grow.”
