CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot during an armed robbery on Chicago’s Far North Side Sunday evening, according to police.

The teen was walking in the 2100 block of Granville Avenue around 5:15 p.m. when he was approached by an unidentified suspect riding an electric scooter.

Police say the suspect pulled out a gun, demanded the teen’s belongings and then opened fire — striking the victim in the upper body and left forearm.

The suspect fled the scene on the scooter and has not been located.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made. Area Three detectives are investigating.
