Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford extends temporarily closure after floods

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Rockford, which announced a temporary closure following last week’s floods, has announced it is extending that closure for additional repairs.

According to the attraction, 7820 Cherryvale N Blvd, expects to reopen on Monday, July 21st, 2025.

“As we work diligently to restore the park after the recent storms, Hurricane Harbor Rockford will remain closed,” the park posted on Facebook.

Any single-day tickets already purchased can be used at Six Flags Great America or Hurricane Harbor Chicago, or remain valid through any operating day of Hurricane Harbor Rockford.

Severe flooding on July 10th also destroyed event sites for the annual Alpine Kiwanis Brat Days, forcing its cancellation this year.

Formerly operated by the Rockford Park District as Magic Waters, Six Flags took over operation of the park in 2020.
