After a break from the muggy weather, the heat is making a comeback Monday and it’s coming in strong.
Expect highs near 90 degrees across much of Chicagoland, with heat index temperatures climbing into the 95 to 100-degree range.
While the lakefront will see slightly cooler conditions, most of the region will feel the full force of summer’s return.
There will be plenty of sunshine during the day, adding to the steamy feel.
Temps look to hover in the mid- to upper 80s, possibly breaking 90, around Chicagoland heading into about the middle of next week.
