Adrian Wisdom, 23, is charged with second-degree cruelty to children, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Officers say the shooting took place in the drive-thru of the Chick-Fil-A at 2700 Manchester Parkway. Testimony on Monday revealed that the weapon used in the incident fell on the seat and was accidentally discharged.
The bullet injured Wisdom’s 1-year-old son and the female driver of the car. Police say both victims are stable and are expected to make a full recovery.
“It’s fortunate that the injuries aren’t any worse but that’s still a developing area and we’ll find out more as the child’s treatment goes on,” said District Attorney Don Kelly.
Wisdom’s bond was set at $10,000. The case now moves to superior court.
