The krewe announced at the party on Saturday, July 12, that the theme for this year’s festivities will be “Femmes Just Want to Have Fun.”
“This year’s theme, ‘Femmes Just Want to Have Fun,’ is more than a song lyric,” said Kimberly Early, president of the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale. “It’ all about joy and empowerment. It’s a celebration of the strength, beauty and diversity of the women who represent Femme Fatale across the country.”
The grand marshal for 2026 was revealed to be 27-year-old Tahj Williams, a New Orleans artist best known for her beadwork designs for the Super Bowl LIX logo and theme art. According to a news release, Williams was selected as grand marshal due to her vibrant representation of the New Orleans spirit.
“We are beyond thrilled to have Queen Tahj as our grand marshal,” said Femme Fatale founder
Gwendolyn V. Rainey. “Her artistry and leadership embody the essence and mission of
Femme Fatale: strength, community and cultural pride.”
The 2026 queen-select was also announced to be Lisa Ballard Jackson, a law enforcement professional with experience in youth mentoring and community service. She currently serves as the supervising commander of the D.A.R.E. program in St. Bernard Parish.
As part of the reveal party, krewe lieutenants participated in float selections by voting on the best “Boots on the Ground.” More than 300 new members were also inducted, bringing Femme Fatale’s member count to 2,026.
Femme Fatale will roll Sunday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. According to a news release, it will follow its traditional Uptown route. For more information on the parade, visit the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale website.
