Torilena Fields reportedly shot her mother in the head and stabbed her multiple times in early October, FOX 56 previously reported.
Court documents noted that authorities found the dog’s body and parts of Trudy Fields in a large pot inside the “still warm”
Court proceedings were previously halted as a psychiatric evaluation was ordered in March by Laura Fitzer, Fields’ defense attorney, records show.
“The day prior to the incident, witnesses saw the defendant attempting to “cast spells” on them,” her attorney wrote. “When the police came on the scene after the body was found, the Commonwealth alleges the Defendant did not exit the home voluntarily, was seen speaking ‘gibberish’ and attempting to cast spells on the robot deployed by the special response team.”
Fields’ cousin, Olivia Brock, previously went on record, claiming she hoped Fields wasn’t in her right mind at the time.
“You kind of hope it’s something that where she’s not in her right mind, something you want her to be out of her mind and to explain what caused this,” Brock said.
Until results of that testing are available, Fields’ trial is on hold.
