Heat Advisory: Dangerous temperatures Monday
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- There is just no beating this summer heat. Heat index temperatures continued to climb today, with some areas hitting 103 degrees this afternoon.

Monday: A Heat Advisory has already been issued for Monday afternoon. This included most Georgia counties and could be expanded into Alabama. Expect feel-like temperatures up to 105 degrees tomorrow. Only a few pop-up showers will help to cool us off.

Tuesday: The heat dome will continue to build Tuesday. Heat Index temperatures of 105 degrees are likely across the area. A Heat Advisory will likely be issued.

Rest of the Week: Starting Wednesday, the rain chances will begin to ramp up again. The increase in clouds and rain will help to cool us off a little. Expect afternoon scattered storms through Friday.

Next Weekend: The heat will move back into the forecast just in time for your weekend. A few showers will remain possible Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Tropics: We are monitoring a disorganized area of low pressure in the Atlantic. As of Sunday evening, there is a 20% chance of it becoming organized later this week. If it becomes named, our next name on the 2025 list is Dexter.

Regardless of organization, heavy rainfall and flash flooding could become an issue across Florida and the Gulf Coast.
