Google’s Pixel 8 Pro is $599, and includes a free Pixel Watch 2

The Pixel 9A is a tempting phone for $499, but even more tempting is the 128GB Pixel 8 Pro, which is selling for $599 unlocked right now at the Google Store.

Its perks are well worth the extra $100. You’re getting a more robust camera system (the 5x telephoto lens is very good) and better build quality. Not only that, Google is including a free Pixel Watch 2 with LTE, along with one of its phone cases.

The Pixel 8 Pro launched in late 2023, meaning it has just a little over five years of OS updates left before it’s no longer supported. In other words, there’s plenty of life left in this phone. This model has a 120Hz refresh rate OLED screen that can go down to 1Hz with its always-on display to save battery life. You’ll be glad to have the free case, as the Pixel 8 Pro’s back glass is matte-textured, which Verge reviewer Allison Johnson found made it more slippery to hold, not less. Read our review.

Other deals we think you’ll like

  • Steam isn’t usually the best place to look for deals on PC games. Most of the time, legit code sellers like Fanatical have much better prices. If you want to buy some of Capcom’s recent Resident Evil games (excluding the RE4 remake), you can get them for $6.50 a pop as part of Fanatical’s Capcom-themed bundle that runs through July 26th. You save a little extra per game when you add three or more titles to your cart. The bundle also contains some Ace Attorney collections and the remaster of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, as well as several titles from the Devil May Cry, Mega Man, and Street Fighter franchises. To my knowledge, every game in this collection works great on Steam Deck and other handheld gaming PCs.
  • While not a discount, I think the new Alienware AW2725D 27-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor seems like a fantastic value at its $549.99 launch price. It features a 1440p panel, .03-millisecond response time (standard among the latest OLED monitors), a nice design, and a 280Hz refresh rate. It’s not alone in this price bracket, as Asus’ PG27AQDM is a comparable display (but with a 240Hz refresh rate) that costs $569 at Amazon. Generally, OLED gaming monitors have become more accessible, thanks not only to sales, but to companies that are releasing new models at digestible prices.
  • Best Buy has a better deal on the Fanttik X9 Pro portable tire inflator than what we saw during Prime Day. The gadget, which was very popular among readers, is $43.99 for today only at Best Buy, giving you the chance to snag it if you missed out last week. Not only can this model fill up bike and car tires, it includes an adapter to fill up a basketball. The 18.50Wh battery tops out at 150PSI, and features an LED light to make it easier to connect it to whatever it is you need to add air to.
