It happened just after 9 p.m. on Sunday.
By the time law enforcement got there, they said the fight had ended, but they ordered everyone involved to leave. Sheriff’s deputies said they were not listening, with some becoming verbally combative and physically resisting police.
According to a report from the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, one mounted officer was using her horse to drive the crowd out of the fairgrounds. Sheriff’s deputies said one of the juveniles still resisted, trying to push her way back in.
She swung her purse, hitting the officer and horse, before also punching the horse in the chest, neck and shoulder area, the report says.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested that juvenile and said she continued to resist during the arrest, fighting with and threatening them.
According to the report, the juvenile tried to escape after she was placed in the back of a golf cart while law enforcement tried to gain control of the rest of the crowd.
She was taken to Trumbull County JJC on charges of assault and resisting arrest, according to the report. Sheriff’s deputies did not name her because she is a juvenile.
