
(KRON) — Eight people were taken to the hospital by ambulance following a four-car crash on I-80 in Fairfield early Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol told KRON4.
The crash happened on the eastbound side of the interstate at 3:10 a.m. near the Cordelia weigh station, south of Solano Community College. I-80 was completely shut down for roughly 25 minutes while authorities cleared the scene.
The injuries suffered in the crash ranged from major to minor, according to CHP. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The interstate was partially reopened at 3:40 a.m.
