HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle, Hattiesburg police said.

The incident occurred on U.S. 49 and Wisteria Drive around 8:45 p.m. on July 12.

Police said the pedestrian was unresponsive when they arrived at the location. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

According to investigators, the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
