MANASSAS, Va. (DC News Now) — An investigation is underway after a shooting left two people hurt in Manassas early Saturday morning.

Details remain limited; however, officers responded to the shooting in the 8600 block of Phoenix Drive just after 4 a.m. There, they found two people who had been shot—a “juvenile” boy and a “female,”— according to the Manassas City Police Department.

Medics took the boy to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while the “female” was treated at the scene and released. Investigators did not specify their ages.

Police said the shooting was “an isolated incident” with no threat to the public. However, it prompted a large police presence during the early morning hours as officers investigated and conducted on-scene interviews.

“The investigation is ongoing and more information will be provided when available,” the police department wrote in a social media post.
