According to the ALEA, a state trooper tried to stop a motorcycle around 8:08 p.m. on Cobbs Ford Road in Prattville. A pursuit started after the driver did not stop. The pursuit went south on I-65 before it ended by the 2800 block of Springfield Drive in Montgomery.
The ALEA stated the driver started running, leading to a foot pursuit. The suspect then allegedly pulled a knife. ALEA personnel fired their weapons and killed the suspect.
The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Lawley resident Jacob Hutchinson. Lawley is an unincorporated community in Bibb County. No law enforcement officers were injured during the pursuit or shooting.
Special agents with the ALEA State Bureau of Investigation started an investigation. When the investigation is finished, its findings will be presented to the Alabama Attorney General’s Office.
