We will see spotty storms develop once again Monday, mainly during the afternoon hours. Temperatures will reach the lower 90s before we see the rain help bring heat relief. Feels-like temperatures will be between 100 and 105 degrees during the afternoon hours.
We’re keeping a close watch on the Gulf this week as an area of low pressure moves across Florida. As it works westward, there will be the opportunity for it to develop into a tropical system. The biggest concern from this system, regardless of any development, will be increased rain chances for the northern Gulf Coast.
Locally, the heat returns to Acadiana by midweek as temperatures reach the mid 90s with feels-like temperatures closer to 105 or hotter. By the end of the week, low pressure will surge tropical moisture overhead leading to widespread showers and thunderstorms, keeping temperatures near 90 degrees.
