PRICE, Utah (ABC4) — The Price City Police Department reported power outages throughout the city. Multiple crews are on the scene working to restore power, but there is no estimated time when power will be back.
As of around 8 p.m., power was restored to the entirety of Price City.
Around 5 p.m. on Thursday, Price Police Department updated that Price City is working with Rocky Mountain Power to restore power, and power to some areas to the city has been restored, while others are still without power.
The Price Police Department first reported the outage in a post on social media, and they are asking the public not to call 911 or police dispatch to report the outage.
They reminded the public to treat intersections without power as four-way stops.
Initially, the police department reported that they did not have a working generator, but they updated the post shortly after to state that their power is back on and so are their phones.
They also advised the public to take measures to stay cool during the heat and to check on neighbors to make sure they’re doing okay. The groups who are most at risk for heat-related illnesses are the elderly, people with comorbidities, and pets.
Police stated that they will keep the public updated with information as soon as they know more. No further information is available at this time.
